super creative and I think he has such an amazing blend of his artistry but also combining it with popular music i think that’s why he has so many hits as well and why he’s so globally known is because he he knows how to do it effect very effectively exactly he’s an effective impactful singer like it’s not always about having like it’s about being able to write a hit song and connecting to never but I always if there’s a staircase I always take the stairs if there’s like a 88th floor then you must use the elevator right yeah well that I mean yeah i I when I went to Manhattan School of Music in New York it was only five flights and I never took the elevators there because it was a really really old New York elevator yeah I know there’s a lot of like very old uh like architecture in New York oh yeah yeah workout before you seeing the expo we’re even stepping in rhythm on the same okay Charlie welcome to When the Stars Align yes and this is 10 very noble artist in China like everybody knows them in China it’s just like Beven shopping in music these are the the equivalent yeah equivalent like Yeah mozar in music so when you mention their names in China like everybody knows them they have a lot of character wow so Mhm do you have any question or feelings about them they they all have similar names or they’re all is all similar time period like Mozart and Bach or um most time actually most of them are kind of similar time you’re right yeah i mean it’s just based off the I love the significant and tall pictures too it seem does one I I guess my question is all of the artists here who who who’s the most different from the other like uh guess take a guess i would think that um and and pardon me I don’t know how to say their names but the fellow with the long beard here is makes really different art versus this fellow holding his hands and the suit oh is he wearing gloves he has gloves on am I Am I right or are they making the same exact art oh yes there’s a globe yeah yeah yeah that’s very cool it kind of matches the suit a little bit actually the most noble to artist is and yes wow yeah you can speak Chinese and what’s the second one yeah you’re right wow you have talents on learn Chinese well I just know how to repeat because in in Chinese language I was told that the pitch is very important the way that in the way that you say certain phrases and it could mean a completely different thing if you say I I don’t even know if that was but if I said it means it doesn’t it doesn’t mean right you you you have really sense maybe because due to m you know I think I’m too musical right very musical yes so these two artists I will lead you to their great great arts and I believe you will love them oh let’s go see it let’s go see it do let’s Wow mhm these are the very traditional arts in China and these are the real the real one these aren’t copies all the real one no copies no copies here you know you know one thing is so interesting i find you have Chinese character in your body really yes well that makes me very happy really maybe it’s because I’ve been coming here for such a long time no it’s just like you’re very I don’t I don’t know you are you could you kind of shine but you are basically I’m cool you are cool i think the I think the Chinese people are cool and they’re such a a sensitive people and have they have so much empathy which is why there’s so much great art obviously that comes from the Chinese people and has been for such a long time you’re right uh and I think uh out in the west we’re even more inspired by it now oh really oh yeah this is this piece called um the foolish man moved the mountain the foolish man of the mountain foolish man moved the mountain foolish man moved the mountain okay it’s from Shubon shujo i going to say nothing but you just maybe look close and see if I can figure out what’s going on here right right the foolish men move the mountain the foolish men move the mountain my first question would be what are they working on and why do they want to move the It seems like they’re setting up something agriculturally no it’s a mountain like in front of them it’s kind of like that yeah they’re pushing forward they’re pushing forward wow and it seems like men of all ages it’s just like can I have a question can men move a mountain this is mesmerizing i think men can move i think everybody can move mountains you have to you have to put your mind to it maybe that’s what this is kind of symbolically saying in a physical way and in a mental way too because there is some mental uh uh battle here whatever they’re trying to accomplish they have to push through and physically obviously they’re they have uh their stakes that they’re going to presumably dig into the ground but there’s a lot I I I love art that has like layers to it it’s very very cool yeah this is actually um have a very historical backgrounds beneath like because at that time people living poverty they live in pain mhm and uh but they never give up their yourself they never give up they like how hard the task was like a mission impossible right move a mountain but if I believe I have the spirits that believe myself that I can do it and in the end right everything you know the hope is rising so but you have to put your best foot forward yes you have to put your best forward i get it i get it that’s very I I I love I love painting and works that have that have layers of meaning to them that’s really really I feel to you too i can’t stop looking at it it’s And what this is a draft yeah it’s a draft a kind of a draft okay mhm oh Charlie look at this this too seems to hold great significance i don’t know much about this but I saw a little bit of this downstairs downstairs yes you are right is this peacock no it’s crane it’s a crane yeah it’s a crane and it’s a pine tree and uh you know it’s also have the meaning beneath because it’s uh it’s actually the same historical background with the last time with the last draw but it’s totally different mood there this uh pine tree means exist and unyielding because this kind of tree is you know grow very high level like there’s like less air and then nothing there but just this tree right yeah so this crane means um longevity and uh yeah in China in China you know in our mind the crane means happiness longevity I didn’t know that right then you know and it’s because of this is is why the crane means that no not because of the draw but in the traditional very like long history culture yeah it means that and the rising rising sun means Hope wow it means hope there’s so many meanings yeah it is you can just walk around oh I wish I could read this better but wow do you know what’s this no I was trying to guess how old it might be it seems like it’s uh been around for a while i don’t know what’s uh I don’t know when did this art like a drawing but this is definitely not a pier mhm this not pier it’s called hulu in China what’s holu yes hulu holu it means safe it’s also pretty [Music] that’s what I feel to you i think you will love tra very traditional Chinese stuff yeah I’m fascinated by most things that I don’t know a lot about and I don’t I I’m kind of familiar with traditional Chinese culture but like not too much where I I you can never get bored of things like this it’s really That’s good you know you’re in a serious art exhibit when they have a thermometer down there to control the temperature yeah to make sure to make sure that the room doesn’t get too cold or too hot this is very pretty mhm wow so Charlie I got to ask you how you feel about all lettuce it’s amazing and I was just thinking before that I like I could do that i know we don’t have hours right now but I could do that for hours that’s like I want to just changed here where where are we right now this is the animation room yeah it’s the last station it’s like a animation of all the art work wow i feel very like at ease and inspired right now i think you will be inspired by that mhm i think I’m about to be inspired for a very long time i I I want to come here forever and ever that’s so cool Charlie i’m glad that you will love very traditional Chinese stuff like like very traditional traditional things i do i I like in general I like traditional things i I I don’t know much about Chinese tradition but I just anything rooted in traditionalism is always going to feel like the most rooted in uh like the the people this is the fan you want to check it out ma Whoa mhm have like different shape when you move to a certain I want I want to make merch like my own merch like this this is like you you can it changes shape and Wow and it and it’s a fan too maybe you can bring some you know souvenir to your family can look at this and understand its meaning it doesn’t even matter where you come from you can look at that and understand it right away wow that’s a nice one that’s a nice one Charlie oh I’m going to
